Uniforms
Legend
In 1888, the Quartermaster General of the United States Army published a limited edition portfolio of the uniforms of the US Army from 1774 to 1888. This consisted of 44 handsomely produced chromolithographs by the noted American artist H.A. Ogden. The portfolio of prints on sturdy paper was accompanied by a volume of text, describing in detail the uniforms depicted, as well as many interseting observations on life in the US Army during the successive periods. This is an extraordinary example of the highest form of American chromolithography by the G.H. Buek Company, New York. The image area of each print measures 14" x 11½"; page size measures 17" x 15". We are offering the entire portfolio of 42 plates (plates II and III missing) plus the volume of accompanying text. SOLD
