Butterflies

Mr. Jardine was one of the foremost naturalists in 19th Century England. He traveled extensivelyd and compiled to fill 17 or 18 volumes of originally hand-colored copperplate engravings of all the animals known at that time in the world. An accomplishment that earned him many honors. They were published in London and Scotland by Lizars. He is still known and admired the world over. Each creature is set in the background of its natural habitat. The following carry the same details: 3½" x 5½" , original color, copperplate, tattered edges. Occasionally, a plate will have not printed squarely on the paper. Any imperfection that enter the plate itself will be faithfully noted. They are all lighty time-toned
