
In c.1696 William Cavendish, Duke of Newcastle published his famous A General System of Horsemanship in All Its Branches. It described and illustrated the several points of dressage which every gentleman of the period was expected to master. The dimensions of the single engravings (first two listed) are 12½" x 13". The dimensions of the group scenes are 10½" x 13¾". The titles are in German and French. Conditon of the laid paper is fine, with no foxing or tears.

French Cavalry Prints
In 1886 the noted French artist Edouard Detaille prduced a series of handsome
aquatints showing Fench Army Officers mounted. These choice engravings are
13" high by 8½" wide with generous margins. They are priced
at $120 each or $225 the pair.
