These original color chromolithographed tartans were included in THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS - HIGHLAND CLANS AND HIGHLAND REGIMENTS, published by A. Fullarton, Edinburgh, 1875. The colors are very vivid and the chromolithography is exceptional. The publisher has attached the tartan print onto a separate page bearing a gold frame and title. The overall image area for each measures 10-3/4 in. high by 7 in. wide. The plaid alone measures 5-3/4 in. high by 4-1/8 in. wide. The paper is lightly time-toned. There are most unusual and decorative pieces. $65 each.
